Despite losing by 22 runs in the second ODI at the hands of New Zealand, Indian captain Virat Kohli praised the batsmen on Saturday, saying that we improved the game even after the initial tremors. India lost by 22 runs in the second ODI at the hands of New Zealand and with this defeat, they trailed 2–0 in the three-match series. New Zealand's Kyle Jamilson was voted man of the match. Virat said after the match, "I am very impressed with the way we started and the way the team ended the match at the end.
At one point our wickets fell for 197 runs and from there we managed to score up to 250 runs. Our batting in the first half was not good but in the second half we batted strongly. The team was in batting trouble but Navdeep Saini, Ravindra Jadeja and Shreyas Iyer performed better.
The captain said, "Our performance in ODIs this year compared to Tests and T20s was nothing special but during this time we identified the players playing under pressure which is a positive aspect for the team. We will change the team in the last match because now we have nothing to lose in the series. ”He said,“ We performed well and did not think about the results. We did not know before today how Saini can perform in batting and if the lower order performs well then it will inspire the middle order and the top order and the pressure on them will be less. ”
