The Union Urban Development Ministry has entrusted the task of constructing flats with new technology in six cities including Indore under the Global Housing Technology Challenge. Under the scheme 1024 flats in Indore will be built under pre fabricated sandwich panel system.
In this technique, every part of the flat will come from the pre-cast technique, so that the project will be completed soon. The central government has set a deadline of one year to complete the project. The cost of each flat built under the project will be Rs 12.50 lakh. Each flat of a BHK will be around 350 sq ft. The central government will pay 3.50 lakh for every flat, the state government will buy one lakh, the municipal corporation one lakh and seven lakh rupees to buy the flat.
The Municipal Corporation is preparing to contact Hudco soon to contribute. Bhoomi Pujan of the project is planned to be done online simultaneously from Delhi.
Indore contract has been awarded to KPR company which will have to build flats for Rs 128 crore. These flats in the city will be built on Kanadia Road. Superintendent engineer of the corporation Mahesh Sharma said that 16 towers will be built on Kanadia Road and each tower will be of parking plus eight floors.
For this, 4.1 hectare land has already been identified. Officials claim that the new technology will complete the project in a much shorter time than the traditional method. Generally, it takes at least two-and-a-half years to complete such a big project. Apart from Indore, model houses will be built in different cities in five cities of five other states.
These include Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, Rajkot in Gujarat, Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Agartala in Tripura and Ranchi in Jharkhand. The central government has issued work orders to companies to start work in these cities. The project for Indore was approved last year, but since then the tender final at the ministry level has not been done. Now this process is complete and only work is waiting to begin.
Indore was therefore chosen
- Indore has earned a lot of name worldwide by being number one in cleanliness for three consecutive years. People come from far and wide to see the cleanliness here.- Under the Smart City Mission, retrofitting in Indore is being made a smart city. Very few cities in the country are doing this. The work done by Indore for Smart City has also been appreciated and awarded at the national level.
- Indore has proved its mettle in the implementation of every ambitious scheme of the government.
Due to these achievements, officers and leaders from states and cities across the country come here and learn how the work should be done. The intention of the Center is that when they come to see the work of cleaning or smart city, then they should also see these flats built with new technology so that this technology can be promoted.
